The Security area provides the following important functionality.
Recovery Key
During Registration, the password you entered was used to encrypt your data.
If your forget your password, you can use the Recovery Key to recover your account and reset your password.
If you skipped this step during registration, please copy your Recovery Key now and save it in a safe place.
Please note that if you forget your password and do not have your Recovery Key, there is no way to recover your account. Not even Geoshare can recover your account as your password and Recovery Key can only be accessed and read by you.
Change Password
You can change your password at anytime.
Once you change your password, please save your New Password and New Recovery Key in a safe place.
Please note that your Password and Recovery Key are the only two methods to decrypt and access your account. Without these, you will need to delete your account and re-register.
Delete Account
You can delete your account at anytime.
Deleting your account will permanently remove your profile and all related data from your device and our servers. If you would like to use Geoshare in the future, you will need to register again.
During the account deletion process you will be asked to acknowledge the following:
- Your account and all data will be deleted.
- Your current and future Events will be deleted for all participants unless an admin was assigned.
- Your past Events will remain for other participants and you will lose access to them.
- In the case you re-register with the same number, you may need to be re-invited to current and future Events by their Organizer or Admin.
Once you acknowledge each of the above warnings and tap Delete Account, your account will be permanently deleted.
A confirmation screen will then be displayed stating that your account has been successfully deleted.
